Donning the Purple is an asymmetric “king of the hill”–style game: two players against one, whose power is greater. As the role of emperor shifts from player to player, so too do alliances and balances of power. Each participant leads a powerful Roman family, striving to earn the most victory points over four rounds. If your family member ascends to the throne and manages to hold it, you can secure many points. However, you will also become the prime target for the other players, who will attempt to overthrow you and seize the purple themselves.
